Zayn Malik

Zayn is Born the 12 Januar 1993 and he is from East Bowling in Bradford. He's full name is Zayn Javadd Malik. He is the son of a British-Pakistani father and an English mother. When Zayn was little he loved, to get attention and sing and dance. He also performed much for his parents. When Zayn went on Lover Fields Primary School, he joined the city's choir. If Zayn hadn't joined the X-factor, he would still have gone in gymnasiet. Both his mother, Tricia, his father, Yaser, and his three sisters have helped to make him the pop star he is today. Zayn love animals. He has a dog named Boris and two cats named Rolo and Tom.

Niall Horan

Niall was born on 13 September 1993 and is from Mullingar Ireland. Niall started singing when he was very young, and already by the age of eight, his teacher noticed that he had talent for singing, and asked him to take the singing seriously. Two years later he got a taste for acting. In November 2009 he joined a local talent competition Mullingar Shamrocks 'show' Stars In Their Eyes', where he parodied Jason Marz and sang his number I'm Yours. Niall decided to sign up for the X-factor, 13 December 2009 - the evening, Joe McElderry won. After the broadcast, he went online and signed up for the audition. To see Joe win inspired him to give it a try.

Louis Tomlinson

Louis is from Bassacar in Doncater. He is the oldest member in One Directin. He's born the 24. December. Unlike Liam, who started singing as a five year old, started louis first to sing when he was 14 and sang in a band together with some friends. It was then he realized that he could sing. He joined for fun the local talent contests to show what he could. Louis had been dating Hannah Walker long before X-factor. But they split in summer 2011, and today he is dating Eleanor Calder. Louis has four younger sisters. The twins Phoebe and Daisy at six, Felicite at 10 and Charlotte(Lottie) of twelve.

Liam Payne

Liam was born on 29 August 1993, he is one of the oldest in One Direction. He comes from Wolverhampton. Before he joined the X-factor, he went to St Peter's Collegiate. He has always wanted sing. As a 12 year old Liam came in to a drama group named Pink Productions. It was early very clear that Liam was a natural talent. Liam auditioned for X-Factor in 2008 and got through to the workshop. He traveled all the way to Barbados to sing for Simon, but didn't came through. Simon decided to give another a chance. He asked, however, Liam to come back in a few years - and so he did so. Liam returned to school, but continued to sing. Liam is happy that Simon gave him a "no" the first time, otherwise he would not have been in the band. He had the opportunity to make school finished. He had begun to study sound technique, but dropped out  to take part in X-factor. Liam would have gone to audition again in 2009, but was not allowed because X-factor bosses raised the legal age from 14-16. In the end, 2010 showed to be his year.

Harry Styles

His full name is Harry Edward Styles. He's born 1. februar 1994 and is from Holmes Chapel in Cheshire. He is the youngest member in the band. When Harry was born, the family lived in Evesham, but moved to Holmes Chapel while he still was a baby. Harry's mom and dad come's from southern England. Harry has a cat named Dusty (he love's cat's). Harry is good at school and he got a really nice graduation. He had never danced until he joined the X-factor, the whole family was pretty impressed when they saw the dance challenge in X-Factor's boot camp. Before Harry joined the X-factor he had a Facebook profile, that he had to delete as his aditions was shown on television. No one could know how far he had come in the competition. In the primary school Harry began to sing in school plays, but stopped again when he came up in secondary school. Harry began really to sing again, about 2 years before he went to the audition on X-Factor. No one in his family is particularly musical. He plays a little drums and guitar, but no one have never taught him. Before Harry joined the X-factor, he had planned to take a youth-education in economics, sociology and business at a high level. Had Harry not been successful as a singer, he would probably become a physiotherapist or lawyer. Harry's favorite song is Free Fallin 'by John Mayer. He would like to sing a duet with Michael Buble.

About One Direction

The making of One Direction

Five boys from difren't parts of the UK and Ireland had entered the X-factor competition. Their names were Niall (from Westmeath, Ireland), Zayn (from Bradford), Liam (from Wolverhampton), Harry (from Cheshire) and Louis (from Doncaster) and they had all entered as solo artists. Arriving to their individual auditions, they were given the task of impressing the judges. And they did. But just not quite how they imagined. During the Bootcamp round of the competition that Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh had to give the boys the bad news, (that they hadn’t made it through as solo artists). They were devastated, but they were offered a suggestion. The judges wanted them to form a group; to learn to sing as a five-piece rather than individuals. The boys jumped at the chance and became One Direction<3

Signing a record deal 

One day the boys got a call from Simon Cowell, who asked them to attend a meeting at Syco Records head offices in London to discuss their future. On that day, he said that he would sign them to Syco, they had a record deal.

The making of Up All Night

There were quite a few big producers and writers who wanted the chance to work with One Direction.
The group put together an album of thirteen tracks, which they later named Up All Night. And by Autumn 2011, it was it released.

The first Number One

One Direction’s debut single, What Makes You Beautiful was released on 11 September 2011 in the UK. Quickly it was breaking records before it went on sale. It became the biggest pre-order in Sony’s single history and went in a number one in the UK and Irish charts as soon as it was on iTunes.
